Sgt. Jaka is the tritagonist of The Raid: RedemptionHe commands the S.W.A.T. squad in the titular raid on a notorius Jakartan narcotic gangster, Tama Riyadi

Personality[]

Jaka is seen to be a capable fighter like the other members, but also cares for his team unlike his boss Wahyu (who calls the rookies "fuckups"). He refuses to leave the complex without Rama and Bowo, and is about to call the mission off to save the remaining officers. He also sacrifices himself to save Wahyu and Dagu from Mad Dog.

The Raid: Redemption[]

Jaka's first appearance on the film is when he was seen giving command to his squad about their raid to an abandoned building controlled by Tama Riyadi. the criminal lord along with his sidekick Andi and Mad Dog. When Rama and Bowo argued he cut them off by telling them that the mission is not a simulation and they are facing with fully trained people, who are ready to fight anytime. The driver then told them they only have 30 seconds left before they arrived, he then told his force to re-check the equipment and get ready.

When they arrive, Jaka gives a rifle to Lieutenant Wahyu, who asks him why would Jaka bring rookies to the mission. Jaka said he will put them in the back of the line and Wahyu make it clear to put them really behind the line.

When the raid begins, Jaka split the force into 2 groups and he chose to enter via main door, he told one of the agent to pin down a guard and kill him, when he done that, they quickly run to the main door and found a man trying to get inside the building. Albeit the raid goes well at first, the team is caught and most of the members are executed by the addicts due to lack of experience. Jaka also finds out that Wahyu has not told anyone about the mission and that back-up cannot be alerted. Jaka orders the remaining officers to retreat in to an apartment, where officer Rama soon starts to blow a gas tank against the addicts. The gas tank explodes, killing almost every criminal near them and knocking out the rest of the officers.

Jaka wakes up, and finds himself one of the five officers still alive; others being Rama, Wahyu, Dagu and a seriously injured Bowo. They split in to two groups, as Jaka, Wahyu and Dagu leave to find Tama. They are almost seen by Machete Gang Leader but he is distracted by the gun shots fired by Rama. Jaka and his group retreat in to an apartment, where Jaka insists Wahyu to tell him who gave the order to raid the complex. Jaka also refuses to leave the building without Rama and Bowo. Wahyu does not tell him what the raid is really about, and the team leaves the room. Soon, they are seen by Mad Dog, who manages to pull a gun in to Jaka's head. Jaka orders Dagu to protect Wahyu and the two leave as Mad Dog forces Jaka to go back in to an apartment room. Mad Dog unloads the gun and tells Jaka he never liked using one, but rather loves fisticuffs. The two have a duel.
